I think that everyone who goes on vacation is bound to gain weight because there is this abundance of new foods to try out.  If you wish to prevent weight gain on vacation you must do some bodyweight exercises at least, if not get some walking in during your days.  I know that exercise may be the last thing you want to think about while on vacation, but let me tell you how much you will benefit from starting your day doing a little stretch right when you roll out of bed along with controlled breathing.  Follow up with the hundreds from pilates and you will have endless energy.
