Are you a student at one of the Top Film Schools and are worried you might miss the Oscars because you have classes? You don’t have to worry about it these days, but that was not always the case. Here is some history of the the Academy Awards and when they are held.  The Academy Awards were held on Thursdays until 1954. Then in 1959, they began being held on Mondays until 1998, except for a few exceptions. Starting in 1999, they have been held on Sundays. For nearly 60 years the Academy Awards were held in late March or early April. Starting in 2004, it has been held in late February or early March.
